Electric devices safety check overview

This is certification that the manufacturer or importer of the electric devices subject to safety check receives a safety check report from the safety check institution for each model of the electric devices subject to safety check,
confirm if the relevant device is commensurate with the standard, and then reports a safety check application reports it to the safety certification authority.

Electrical appliances that may cause fire or electric shock due to structure or method of use which are recognized as being capable of preventing hazards by product tests by an institution designated by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and settled by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.

In order to manufacture and sell or to export and sell electrical equipment subject to safety certification to Korea, you should certified by safety check the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for each model.
For electrical equipment subject to safety check, this is a forced certification system that verifies the safety of electrical equipment release through product tests confirming suitability following safety standards and factory audit confirming whether the manufacturer could continuously maintain the quality of electrical equipment subject to safety check.
The safety check is a system to protect consumers from obstacles and hazards like electric shock/fire from defective electric equipment by evaluating if manufacturers produce the same products continuously and reliably.
